Confidence and Baby Steps

October 2, 2014 Boonie Sripom

Sometimes you gotta put yourself out there, even if you're scared!

Talking in front of the camera is not always easy for me. It's taken a while to build confidence, and I'm super happy with where I am, and where I can grow.

Is there something you'd like to gain more confidence in? How will you start?

Thoughts on Celebrations

September 18, 2014 Boonie Sripom

I'm copying & pasting a message I wrote to someone about rituals, rites of passage, and celebration:

I think many people are jaded by living in the outskirts of society for so long that they cannot and will not enjoy the song and dances of the normal people, even if that's all we have for the time being. I think rituals and celebration are necessary in maintaining a sense of humanity and interpersonal connection. It gives us affirmations that we exist, and that we matter. You matter. And what you've chosen to do with your life, if you consider it worthy of rights of passage, should be shared with loved ones. This lifespan is too short beyond the unknown to not celebrate our accomplishments and connections with others.

5 Reasons Children Are Awesome

5 Reasons Children Are Awesome

What are some things you loved best about childhood? Here are some of my favorites :)

The crooked painting kinda bugs, but oh well! Also, I just watched a video about children who may develop contingency-based love when raised in codependent family environments. I'll link: We Become Codependent in Our Childhood. How & Why We Develop Codependency. The Origins. Advice

On Becoming a Person (Book Rec.)

July 12, 2014 Boonie Sripom

Hi fellow Messes! I was reading a section of On Becoming a Person and really wanted to share some thoughts on this wonderful book. What are some books that have helped shape your individual processes of becoming a person?

Also, I understand that therapy is not for everyone, and I did use some hyperbole with saying it "changes everything". Please forgive my excitement with my process towards becoming.

Thank you for watching. Please take care! -Boonie

The Whole Brain Child (Book Rec.)

July 11, 2014 Boonie Sripom

Hi fellow messes! Just wanted to share an informative and easy-to-use parenting book by Dan Siegel, and Tina Payne Bryson. There's some neuroscience and attachment presented, and practical applications with charts to refer to.

Highly recommended for those working with children, and parents looking for some empathic and respectful interventions.

Relationship Triangles (Quick Definition)

July 11, 2014 Boonie Sripom

Ever get pulled into someone's drama? Do you ever pull others into your relationship problems? Triangling occurs pretty naturally to alleviate discomfort, yet conflicts continue to persist. Relationship experts may be able to help introduce new communication and conflict resolution skills.

Please check out additional resources under the video.
