October 23, 2019 Boonie Sripom

Some words on being different, thinking differently, and the journey in relation to "looking" disabled or different, how it may affect a person where they mask or question their authentic selves. Neurodiversity Affirming Therapists: https://www.facebook.com/groups/22198...

Re: 50 Percent of Gamers are Women

January 19, 2019 Boonie Sripom

Statistics found here.

Disclaimer that of course not everyone thinks this way. Not everyone minimizes girls and women in the culture. There are still shared experiences where many women DO go through this challenge where they are not as accepted or feel like they are not allowed to explore “real gaming.” This is just a general response, and I am open to your perceptions and reading recommendations related to gender and video game culture and STEM.

Re: Minecraft Player Spends 4.5 Years Making a World

January 19, 2019 Boonie Sripom

I read comments on viral videos to get a feel for how the general public views groups of people, especially gamers and creatives. I made this video to share my perspective and appreciation for someone who is as committed and focused to do something like this.

Importance of Early Education & Preschool

June 27, 2018 Boonie Sripom

Preschool isn't just playing or babysitting. It affects brain development, readiness for learning, social skills, trust in adults, trust in their environment to explore, to try again, creative exploration which feeds into analytical problem solving skills, confidence in themselves to make mistakes, knowing how to ask for help, self care...

Attempting to answer the question of how to find the right art medium as a creative. I don't think I answered it directly, but I hope it gives an idea of one of many ways someone can find their medium/media. Thanks for watching! How did you know you found your medium?

Fashion & Art Student Admission Tips

June 27, 2018 Boonie Sripom

Some tips for fashion and art students applying to schools:

1) Research your school to see the type of program it is: conceptual, trade, skill-focused, business school?
2) Develop your math skills. If fashion, there will be measurements and scaled models to reference through your career. Practice converting fractions, measurements, and decimals. If necessary, have a tutor, or learn how you best learn math.
3) Writing skills. Read! Practice! Use the dictionary! Language skills are part of your branding, the first thing people think of when reading your mission statement.
4) Networking: This also wasn't taught to me in psychology. People don't know your brand or services if they haven't met you, or if you haven't put yourself out there. Figure out comfortable, yet achievable ways to reach people in your industry. Build relationships. The referrals will come. People want to know what you offer and who you are first.
5) Email & Etiquette:  A well-written email and thank yous go a long way in a sea of people who aren't grateful for connections. Stand out with that extra five minutes.
6) Learn how to sew. In fashion merchandising, there are components for knowing how to sew to a degree. Even if you don't plan to make large garments, or sew in the future, knowing this process helps you understand how to expand your vocabulary and collaborate with those who will be sewing. It will help in the future as a business leader.

ENFPs (and others) Changing Ideas, Jobs, and Paths

June 27, 2018 Boonie Sripom

Using my current context to illustrate how ENFPs may be "scattered" by choosing multiple ideas, jobs, and paths in life: we tend to get excited about possibilities and connecting knowledge into something novel. This involves studying and exploring multiple disciplines. To live this way can be concerning for people in our lives because it is not linear or predictable. It can lead to people challenging our life choices and it comes off as harsh. It comes from a place of care because they've seen the rules of the world, and they've seen how hard it can be to live in a way that is not supported by these rules.

It comes down to us questioning how we are living. Are we living our best life? Are we living for our joys or to please others, or avoid criticisms? It is something to consider. *Note: there is nothing wrong with living for others, and for ENFPs there can be this internal struggle with being authentic if and when one chooses to live by their own terms.

To learn how to separate oneself from the opinions and judgments of others can create a stronger sense of inner peace to continue living for oneself. We can honor the care and concerns of others, while also living one's authentic path. Most of the time people worry when they see you worried. Continue following your joy, and over time, it can be that loved ones will learn to accept and adjust to your worldviews, even if they don't truly understand.
